Florida Architects
Florida architect continuing education covers the newest and hottest topics such as green building and mold prevention. Green building is a construction practice that promotes economic health, the community, and the enviroment. This uses technologies such as wind power generators, solar power panels, and recycled wood floors. And mold prevention reviews removal of mold, preventative plans, and common mold problems in new construction.
American Contractors Exam Services offers the training needed for an architect. We provide online architect classes and live classroom seminars in Florida. These classes will help everyone from the experienced architect to the newly licensed architect. If you need to pass the Florida architect license exam, we can help! We are currently developing new Florida architect online continuing education. Make sure that you check back often for new courses. These courses will cover the following topics:
- Green building - Topics that will be covered are wind power generators, rainwater harvesting, recycled wood flooring, permeable pavement, and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment.
- Ethics for Architects - This course will review such topics as conflicts of interest, duties and obligations towards the public, accessibility of records, case studies, and making ethical judgements.
- Mold Prevention - Now that mold is a hot topic in the construction industry, this course will cover sources of mold, new construction and mold, rightsizing, standards and regulations, liability, and litigation.
- Using Gypsum in New Construction - This continuing education course provides current information on drywall and veneer plaster construction, coventional lath and plaster construction, suspended accoustical ceiling systems, and general construction.
These are the current requirements for renewing your Florida Architects license. We will always provide the newest information available and will update the requirements as soon as there are changes.
- To renew your Architects License in the state of Florida, you are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
- You may complete all 20 hours in health, safety, and welfare, or a minimum of 16 hours in health, safety, and welfare, and four hours of optional credits. You must complete a 2-hour advanced Florida Building Code course. Within the two years of initial licensure all licensee will be required to complete a one time Florida Building Code core course.
- Architect License expires on February 28 of every odd year. Continuing education must be completed prior to expiration. Extra CE hours may not carry over.
- Licensees should maintain a copy of the Certificate of Completion with their records. The Board will audit to verify that continuing education requirements are being met.
